Did you know?
Pet dogs in the US are now expected to behave better than the average child. Did you know? The ASPCA has found the leading cause of death among pet dogs – euthanasia due to behavioral problems. Purpose of Socialization: To introduce dogs to as many things as possible while keeping things fun and safe, allowing the dogs to be comfortable around a wide range of stimuli. Properly socialized dogs usually experience fewer behavioral problems and tend to be happier, more outgoing, and less stressed than un-socialized dogs. What is Socialization? While socialization does include interactions with other dogs and people, it includes so much more. Socialization allows dogs to be introduced to and interact with the rest of the world. This includes sounds, objects, movements, smells…etc. Socialization allows your dog to be comfortable around children playing at a park, bowls being dropped in the kitchen, walking along a busy highway and everything in-between.

I love helping people build better relationships with their dogs. My goal is to keep dogs in homes and out of shelters. Archives
